Service Description

A focused one-day workshop exploring the techniques and considerations involved in throwing porcelain on the pottery wheel. You’ll learn how to throw both closed and open forms, with demonstrations covering porcelain-specific throwing techniques, form development and design considerations. Throughout the day, you’ll develop your own pieces through a combination of practical demonstrations and individual 1-to-1 tuition, allowing you to refine your technique and gain confidence working with porcelain. The workshop is suitable for potters with previous wheel-throwing experience who want to develop their skills and explore the possibilities of porcelain. ✅Course Details • full day 10am - 4pm (1 hr break) • Small class sizes for personalised tuition • All clay, tools included • Firing of up to 4 pieces to bisque. ► About Qian Liu is a recent MA Ceramics & Glass graduate from Royal College of Art ( RCA). Qian has a solid craft rooting through her functional pottery apprenticeships both in UK and Australia. She currently undertakes her MA research program with RCA whilst continuing her ceramics practice in her studio based in London. ► Collection: Email us in 3 weeks after the course date for collection. We hold work for up to two months. ►Important Details • Minimum Age: 16+ • Running Requirement: The course will run with a minimum of 2 bookings. • Nails: Please keep your nails short for this hands-on workshop. ►Payment & Missed Sessions • Payment Plans: Available for advanced bookings.
